Lacrosse is continually evolving in Minnesota and at EAA.
In an effort to keep pace with these changes, EAA is offering four
options for the 2008 Lacrosse season. Teams will be configured by
player grade level at time of registration. The program is offered to
both boys and girls. There are currently no all girls’ lacrosse teams
offered by EAA. However, an all girls program is offered through Valley
Athletic Association. Therefore, EAA lacrosse programs use boys'
equipment and play under the rules and regulations of boys' lacrosse.
The following 2008 lacrosse
options are available:
Spring Indoor Lacrosse
3rd - 6th grade $100
Indoor Spring Lacrosse will be offered in two divisions, 3-4 and 5-6
grade. This will be a combined South of the River league, known as
Dakota Lacrosse, with participants from Eagan, Apple Valley, Rosemount
and Burnsville. To the extent possible, players will be organized
by school and geography. There will be one practice and one game
per week. Practices will begin in mid-March and the season will
end in late May. Practices will be on weeknights and games will be
on weekends. All activities will be at Eagan and Hayes arenas on
artificial turf.

Spring Field Lacrosse
7th - 8th grade $95
7th - 8th Grade Lacrosse will play in the Minnesota Boys
Scholastic Lacrosse Association (MBSLA) Middle School league on
approximately 4 weekends from late April through early June. Travel to
all parts of the metro area is likely for games. Games are held on
Saturdays in a round-robin format and the team will typically play two
games on each game date. Practices will be at Rahn Field, practice time
and frequency to be determined by coaches and families.
There may be additional costs for
paid coaches, indoor practice time and additional tournaments for this
program. This will be determined by the families once teams are
formed. If you are not currently a member of US Lacrosse,
membership would be required at an approximate cost of $25.
Spring Field Lacrosse
9th - 10th grade $95
9th -10th Grade Lacrosse will play in Minnesota Boys Scholastic Lacrosse
Association (MBSLA) Frosh league on approximately 4 weekends from late
April through early June. Travel to all parts of the metro area is
likely for games. Games are held on Saturdays in a round-robin format
and the team will typically play two games on each game date. Practices
will be daily after school at Rahn Field. There is no change in this
program from past years. Note: Although Boys HS Lacrosse has been
sanctioned by the Minnesota HS League and District 196 has funded a
varsity and JV team at each of the four District High Schools, there is
no District support in 2008 for the Frosh program. To the extent
allowed, the Frosh program will be coordinated with the HS varsity and
JV programs. If you are not currently a member of US
Lacrosse membership would be required at an additional fee of
approximately $35.
There will also be additional costs for
paid coaches, indoor practice time and additional tournaments for this
program. This will be coordinated by the High School Lacrosse Boosters.
Summer
Field Lacrosse 3rd -
8th grade $100
Summer field
lacrosse will be offered to 3rd - 4th, 5th
- 6th, and 7th - 8th grade
divisions. These teams will participate in the Youth Lacrosse Minnesota
summer league. At the 7th – 8th grade level an
“A” level team may be formed based on the skill level of the athletes
and number of participants. Practices and games will be held on weekday
evenings. An end of season State Tournament will be held in late July.
Teams may participate in additional tournaments at the discretion of
coaches and parents. Registration fees for the added tournaments would
be the responsibility of the participating team.
If your
child is not currently a member of US Lacrosse, registration will be
required at an additional fee of approximately $25.
Practices will start in May and end with the scheduled State Tournament
in late July.
