Spring In-House Volleyball
is offered in grades 4 through 12. The division of grades depends on
the number of participants in each grade level. Players will learn
volleyball fundamentals within an atmosphere of friendly competition and
good sportsmanship. Registration fees for the 2009 season are $43.
The
2009 spring volleyball season runs from the week of March 16th through
May 16th. Players can participate in both Track and Volleyball. Teams
will practice twice the first week and then once a week for the rest of
the season with most games played on Saturdays. There will be a
tournament at the end of the season for each age division. Each team
will have the opportunity to play at least two games during the
tournament.
There
will be a coaches meeting on Monday, March 2nd
at Dakota Hills Middle School, Lecture Room B. 4th and 5th
grade coaches meeting starts at 6:30pm and 6th through 12th
grade coaches meeting starts at 8pm. Each meeting will last about an
hour. Schedules, rosters, equipment and jerseys will be handed out at
the meeting.
A
coaches’ clinic is being offered to all coaches. The clinic is
scheduled for Wednesday, March 11th from 6:15 to
9:15pm at Shannon Park Elementary School in Rosemount. See our Maps
link on the EAA Home page for the address. An EHS Volleyball coach will
cover skills, defense and practice sessions.

Fall Volleyball EAA will
be offering Fall Volleyball for girls entering grades 4 – 6.
It’s a perfect fit for those girls who play in spring and want to
continue with more or for those wanting to try for the first time! The
season will last 6 weeks, ending the week before MEA break. Online
sign-ups will begin in May with walk-in registration May 28th.
The director will be there to answer questions.
The Fall Volleyball program
includes a U11 and U12 traveling team. Teams will play doubleheader
matches on Monday nights somewhere in the south Metro area. This league
ends the last week of October. Players interested in trying out should
sign up for “traveling” volleyball. Players who do not make a traveling
team may then sign up for the in-house program with no late fee.
Rules and
regulations for both programs will be generally the same as those for
Spring Volleyball.EAA shirts will be
provided for each player. Players are responsible for providing their
own knee pads. Non-marking gym shoes are also required. Rules of play
will vary with each division.
