-Mid-October-early March: regular traveling season. 1-2 practices per
week at various schools in the district. 7-10 weekend tournaments
throughout the metro area. One out of town tournament. Tournaments
consist of 3-4 games each, between Friday evening and Sunday evening.
The Teams
A, B, and C teams are formed for girls and boys in
grades 5-8 based on talent levels.
Teams consist of 8-10 players. Historical data,
availability of gym time, and the ETB budget determine how many teams
will be formed.
Due to the significant time commitment required, players
on Eagan Traveling Basketball teams should not participate on other
sports teams during the traveling basketball season. Traveling
Basketball practices and games must be the priority.

coaching should express their interest during May sign ups, or by
contacting the Director of Eagan Traveling Basketball, Michele Vyvyan,
at
Tbasketball@eaasports.org.
Deadline is 5 pm June 13, 2003.
Interviews of coaching candidates are conducted by members of the EAA
Board, members of the Traveling Basketball Board, and independent
interviewers. The interviews are held in mid-July. After the
interviews, the coaching candidates are ranked . All coaching
candidates at each age/gender group will participate in the evaluation
of players in a different age/gender group during tryouts in
mid-September. During tryouts, the independent evaluators and the
coaching candidates from a different grade level will put the players
into skill level pools. Coaches are selected based on the pool in which
their child has been assigned. If more than one coach has a child in a
given pool, the coach with the highest rating in the interviews will be
designated the head coach for that pool level.
