Frequently Asked Questions

How many, and what, days a week is football scheduled?

EAA limits the number of football activities to 4 per week.  Before the school year starts, we generally schedule activities on Monday through Thursday nights.  After the school year starts, we generally schedule activities for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays.  With every rule, there are some exceptions and sometimes weather, so please check the calendars as they are posted on the website.

What time of day is football?

When football events are scheduled for Monday through Friday they are roughly from 6-8pm.  That time period can shift a bit depending on daylight, but football events will never begin before 5pm on a weeknight.

Saturday game day times vary.

What equipment does EAA provide and what equipment do I need to provide?

EAA will provide a helmet, shoulder pads, jersey, and pants.  The players are responsible for providing a mouth guard, personal protector, and shoes.  Football cleats should not be the detachable type.  They should be the molded type.

What is Bootcamp?

For 3rd-5th grades, Bootcamp is an event where players: learn skills, learn terminology, run through drills, and are evaluated for team formation.  Although Bootcamp is not absolutely required, it is highly encouraged.  If a player is going to miss Bootcamp, it is very important that they contact their Age Group Coordinator and make other arrangements.

Why does registration open in May?

In the past, the EAA Football Board has opened registration in early June.  It has been the EAA Football Board’s experience that when summer started parents forgot football registration was open and thus the EAA Football board spent quite a bit of time sending out registration reminder emails as well as by going to different summer events and reminding people about registration.  Thus, the EAA Football Board decided this year to move the start of football registration to May in an attempt to give parents the opportunity to register before summer begins.

Why does the tackle football late fee go into effect on July 1st?

The EAA Football Board has estimated that we could have anywhere between 11 and 12 tackle football teams with roughly 250 participants in the 3rd – 8th grade leagues.  Although adding a few players close to the start date is not overly difficult, adding or removing entire teams is very difficult.  Thus, in order to properly order equipment and jerseys, as well as put together the schedule and coaching staffs, the EAA Football Board would like to have a pretty good idea of what the final participant count will look like 5 weeks prior to the start of the football season.

Why does tackle football registration close on July 15th with rare exceptions being made?

July 15th is two weeks prior to the start of the season.  The EAA Football board would like to have all players registered by July 15th so we can make final equipment orders in time to have equipment ready prior to the season.
