Program Overview

Eagan Rugby has high school and middle school teams for boys and girls.  Our program is open to all players living in Eagan and surrounding areas, and all ISD 196 schools including Eagan, Eastview, Rosemount, Apple Valley and the School of Environmental Science. Our program is also open to players in the Farmington district.  Varsity players can letter for ISD 192 and 196 schools.

Registration for our regular spring seasons typically opens in January, with training beginning in early March for high school and around the beginning of April for Middle School. Our 7th and 8th graders are encouraged to attend our pre-season high school training sessions in March as well.  These seasons end around the end of the school year.  Summer 7s rugby (Olympic rugby) for high school boys and girls begins in mid-June, and runs to late July/early August. Visit the tabs at the top of the page for our various programs.

Rugby teaches total body skills including safe tackling that carry over in to multiple sports, and is a fantastic spring sport for fall football players.  No experience is necessary!

Our program is one of the leading programs in the state. Our Varsity Girls were 2022 State Champions and Varsity Boys were the 2021 State Champions. Our Varsity Girls and Boys teams travel nationally and internationally. Read more about Eagan Rugby on Facebookor follow us on Twitter @EaganRugby.  If you have questions or have a rugby background and are interested in  coaching, please contact the Rugby Sport Director.
